Once ButcherBox founder Mike Salguero and his wife Karlene discovered they were going to be parents, they embarked on a journey to eat cleaner and healthier. At every turn, they heard about the health benefits of grass-fed meat. But natural, high-quality meat is hard to find. So one night, Mike ended up in someone's living room picking out his very own $400 pile of meat from a cow share. Not just any cow, either - a 100% grass-fed cow. He was instantly hooked on the pure, natural taste, and wanted to make grass-fed meat accessible to the wider public.

There are 5 box types to choose from depending on how you like to eat. Boxes also come in two sizes to pick from.
You can choose how often to have a box delivered. It is a subscription service, but of course, you can cancel anytime without penalty.

100% Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished Beef
We guarantee that ButcherBox beef is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished. Sourced from Australia, our cattle are free to range on grassy pastures throughout their entire lives, suckling from their mothers for the first 6 to 9 months, then eating their natural diet of grass. Thanks to the balmy climate, our cattle are able to graze year-round, instead of enduring harsh winters in the US, where they would be confined and possibly fed grass substitutes.

Heritage Breed Pork
Duroc, Berkshire, and Chester White – our pigs possess distinguished ancestry. Their natural, “old-world” genetics mean that during their slow maturation process, they develop the fine marbling and great flavor Nature intended them to have.

Free range, Organic Chicken
Our chickens spend their days roosting in barns and foraging in the fields of the Shenandoah Valley. At each stage of life, we make sure they stay stress-free, resulting in birds that are juicier and more flavorful. We raise our chickens the humane way, making it the healthy choice for you and your own little brood at home.
