Meet our Essential Oils Adviser,
Raquel Cunningham, RN
"As a registered nurse for the past 12 yrs, in the operating room and now working in pre-op education, I’ve seen from the inside how our medical system operates. However, it was really a personal experience that brought clarity to me. Becoming a mother was one of my biggest dreams come true, ever since I was a small girl. I am fortunate to be a mother of 3 with the love and support of my amazing husband who works as a fireman. Some years ago, my middle child was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia. I was there at the hospital for a few days with my little guy, frustrated and helpless, with my other two kids and husband at home, also sick with hand foot mouth. As the wonderful staff at the hospital had to administer continuous breathing treatments of Albuterol and steroids to help him, I thought to myself, there has to be another way! There has to be a way I can help my family more, so they don’t have to rely only on these drugs. Then and there, I committed myself to learning more.
Through my journey to get educated more about wellness I turned to better food choices, sought to reduce toxins in our life and found the beautiful world of essential oils. I was able to improve the wellness of my own family and haven’t looked back.
Nevertheless at work, in the hospital, I would continue to see the dependence on doctors, surgery and medications. It furthered my frustration and yearning to want to educate others on how you, and only you, are the best advocate for your health and well-being. Healthcare in today’s society is a business, just like any other. Many people believe that western doctors always have the best answers but, despite their high levels of education, what they offer is really sick care, and not an approach to enhance wellness and prevent the need for medical interventions. I believe there is a balance to be struck between western medicine and wellness approaches but that most people have placed too much reliance on sick care. They simply don't know or trust that they can improve their own wellness.
I have learned that there is so much you can do yourself, in your own home, to achieve health. I am now committed to empowering and educating others, spreading awareness and enlightening people about the world of essential oils as natural options for you their health."
